Jean Arp

Jean Arp He was born in Germany 1886 and died 1966 in Basel, who is a poet, painter and holder of French citizenship in 1918. [1]
Between World War I and the Franco-Prussian War, when the German Empire ruled Strasbourg and the surrounding area, Arp was born Hans Peter Wilhelm Arp to a German father and a French mother. Despite continuing to call himself "Hans" when speaking German, Arp legally changed his name to Jean Arp after Alsace was returned to France at the end of World War I due to French legislation.
