Jean Rene Potvin (March 25, 1949 – March 15, 2022) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman.

He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders, Cleveland Barons, and Minnesota North Stars between 1970 and 1981.

Potvin was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, but died on March 15, 2022, less than two weeks shy of his 73rd birthday.[1]
