Jeff Austin (April 25, 1974 – June 24, 2019) was an American mandolinist and singer. He is best known for being a founding member of the progressive bluegrass group Yonder Mountain String Band. The band formed in 1998, and by 2014, Austin had left the group. He released his first solo album, titled The Simple Truth, on February 10, 2015.

Austin was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois and grew up in Elk Grove. He died on June 24, 2019 in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 45.[1]
