Jesús Kumate Rodríguez (13 November 1924 – 7 May 2018) was a Mexican physician and politician. He was born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. He served as the Secretary of Health during the Presidency of Carlos Salinas de Gortari from 1988 to 1994. He was awarded Legion of Honour, Chevalier and Officier.[1] His family were immigrants from Japan.[2]

Kumate Rodríguez died of respiratory failure in Mexico City on 7 May 2018 at the age of 93.[3]
