Jessica Valenti

Jessica Valenti (born November 1, 1978) is an American feminist writer. She started the feminist blog Feministing in 2004. In 2011 she left the website.[1]

Valenti's first book, Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman's Guide to Why Feminism Matters, was published in 2007. Her 2009 book The Purity Myth: How America’s Obsession with Virginity is Hurting Young Women was made into a documentary.[2] Valenti's most recent book, Why Have Kids?: A New Mom Explores the Truth About Parenting and Happiness, was published in 2012.

On October 3, 2009, Valenti married Andrew Golis.[3] The couple's daughter was born in 2010.
