Jim Ryan (politician)

James E. Ryan[1] (February 21, 1946 – June 12, 2022) was an American lawyer and Republican politician. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the 40th Attorney General of Illinois from 1995 until 2003. He was the unsuccessful Republican nominee for Governor of Illinois in 2002. He unsuccessfully ran again in 2010. He was the State's Attorney of DuPage County from 1984 until 1995.

Ryan died at his home in Wheaton, Illinois on June 12, 2022 from a long-illness, aged 76.[2]
