John Richard Smoak Jr.

John Richard Smoak Jr. (May 11, 1943 – May 2, 2022) was an American politician and lawyer. He was the United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida from 2005 until his death.[1][2] Smoak Jr. was nominated to the court by President George W. Bush. He was born in Columbus, Georgia.

Smoak Jr. died on May 2, 2022 at his home in Panama City, Florida, nine days before his 79th birthday.[3]
