John Watson (Australian politician)

John Odin Wentworth Watson AM (born 25 January 1937) is an Australian politician. He was a member of the Liberal Party. He served as a Senator for Tasmania from 1978 to 2008. From July 2005 until he left parliament in June 2008, he was "the Father of the Senate."

Watson was born in Launceston, Tasmania.[1]
