Jonathan Joss (December 22, 1965 – June 1, 2025) was an American actor and musician of Native American ancestry. He was best known for his roles as John Redcorn in King of the Hill and as Chief Ken Hotate in Parks and Recreation.
Joss was Comanche and White Mountain Apache.[1][2]
Joss, who was openly gay, married Tristan Kern de Gonzales on Valentine's Day in 2025.[3]
Joss was shot and killed on June 1, 2025 by a neighbor outside his home in San Antonio, Texas.[4] The two were arguing before his neighbor shot and killed him in front of Joss's husband.[5] Joss was 49 years old.[6]
