Kaia (styled in all caps) is a girl group from the Philippines. The group has five members: twin sisters Charice and Angela, Alexa, Sophia, and Charlotte.[1] They released their first song, "Kaya", on December 10, 2021.[2] The group officially started (debuted) on April 8, 2022, with the song "Blah Blah".[3]

Name

According to the group's official profile, the name Kaia is a mix of two words from different Philippine languages. The first word is kinaiya, which is a noun in Cebuano that describes a person's inner character. The second word is kaya, a Tagalog word showing their power and determination to beat difficulties and obstacles. Together, the name shows how the group takes inspiration from inner character and strength.[4]
