Kira Aleksandrovna Yarmysh (born October 11, 1989) is a Russian writer. In 2020, her novel "Incredible Incidents in Women's Cell No. 3"[a] was published.[1] As of 2022, her book has been published in at least one other language.[2]

She is the press secretary and assistant of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

In 2022, media said that she has escaped from Russia; She served 7 months of the 18 months of house arrest - punishment that the Russian authorities gave her.[3]

Yarmysh was born in Rostov-on-Don on October 11, 1989.[4] In 2007, she started studying at the Faculty of International Journalism (Факультет международной журналистики) at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) without exams, having won the University Challenge Olympiad (see olympiad). After graduation, she worked in the press services of the Pushkin Museum in Moscow. She also worked for Utair airline. In 2013, she took part in the election campaign of Alexei Navalny. He was trying to be elected as mayor of Moscow.[5]
