Klaus Emmerich (3 June 1928 – 25 February 2021) was a German-born Austrian journalist. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany. He was the editor-in-chief of ORF News.[1] He was known for his racist remarks about U.S. President Barack Obama after his election victory in 2008.[2] He said that "I don't want to be [controlled] by a black man in the Western world. If you say that that is a racist remark: right, without doubt."[1]

Emmerich died from COVID-19 on 25 February 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic in Austria in Vienna at the age of 92.[3]
