Lake Region State College (LRSC) is a public junior college in Devils Lake, North Dakota. It was start in 1941. It was first called Devils Lake Junior College and Business School. The college has had other names including Lake Region Junior College and Lake Region Community College. The current name of Lake Region State College was first used in 1999. From 1987 until 1999, the college was a part of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. It was called UND-Lake Region then. In 1984, the college became a part of the North Dakota University System.[3]
Sports
[change | change source]Lake Region State's sports teams are called the Royals. The college is part of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Most of the teams have played in the Mon-Dak Conference (MDC) since 1963. They are also part of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) for men's and women's ice hockey.
Lake Region State has 8 sports. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, ice hockey, and clay target shooting. Women's sports include basketball, ice hockey, softball, and volleyball.[4]
