Lani Misalucha
Lani Bayot Misalucha (born in Manila, Philippines as Lani Dimalanta Boyat; August 3, 1969)[1] is a Filipino singer. She sings pop, opera, R&B, jazz and soul. Her ability to sing across several music genres gave her the name "Asia's Nightingale", according to MTV Southeast Asia. Misalucha was later nominated for an Aliw Award for playing Sita in the 1999 Filipino musical Rama at Sita - The Musical.
Misalucha covered several pop, rock or Christmas songs. They included "Do You Hear What I Hear", "The Tin Man" (original version by the 1970s pop rock group America) and "You Don't Own Me" (original by Lesley Gore).[2]
During fall 2020, Misalucha was affected with bacterial meningitis. She became partially deaf after the condition. It also affected her singing voice.[3]
