Larry Popein

Lawrence Thomas Popein (August 11, 1930 – February 8, 2020), nicknamed "Pope", was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach. He played as a centre. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers and the Oakland Seals. He also played for other ice hockey teams, including the Moose Jaw Canucks and the Vancouver Canucks He was interim head coach of the New York Rangers during the 1973–74 season.

Popein was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He died on February 8, 2020, at the age of 89.[1]
