Lawrence Ati-Zigi (born November 29, 1996 in Accra) is a Ghanaian football goalkeeper. He plays for the Swiss Super League team FC St. Gallen.
Career
[change | change source]Ati-Zigi started his career at Red Bull Ghana. In January 2015 he moved to Austria to FC Liefering. He made his professional debut on matchday 28 of 2014/15 against TSV Hartberg. In the first half of the 2015/16 season he was in the matchday squad for two Bundesliga games for FC Red Bull Salzburg without being used. In January 2017 he was called up to the FC Red Bull Salzburg squad, but did not make any appearances.
For the 2017/18 season, Ati Zigi moved to France to second division club FC Sochaux. [1] At the end of January 2020 he moved to Switzerland to FC St. Gallen.
International
[change | change source]He was in goal in all four games for Ghana at the 2015 U-20 World Cup. He made his senior debut for Ghana in October 2017. He started in an unofficial friendly against Saudi Arabia. He made his debut in an official international match against Iceland in June 2018. In 2022 he was able become the starting goalkeeper. He played the 3 group games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
