The 2016 presidential campaign of Lawrence Lessig was officially launched when Lessig, Harvard University professor from Massachusetts, announced his candidacy for the Democratic Party's nomination for President of the United States in 2016 on September 6, 2015.[1] The headquarters of the campaign is in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Background[change | change source]

Lessig decided to form an exploratory committee in preparation for a possible bid for the Democratic Party's nomination for President of the United States in 2016.[2] Almost two months into the campaign trail, poor polling numbers and not being qualified to enter the debates, Lessig dropped out on November 2, 2015.[3]
