Leigh Bardugo (Hebrew: לי ברדוגו) is an Israeli-American fantasy author.[1]

Early life and education
[change | change source]Bardugo was born in Jerusalem, but raised in Los Angeles, California, United States. She holds a bachelor's degree in English language from YALE University.[2][3][4]
Bardugo is a Young Adult fantasy and Adult fantasy writer.[5] Bardugo has had her books translated into 22 languages and published in 50 different countries.[6] She published the following adult novels: Ninth House (2019), Hell Bent (2023), and The Familiar (2024).[5]
Bardugo’s first book, Shadow and Bone, quickly gained popularity.[6] It was one of four debut Y.A. novels in 2012 to be on the New York Times young-adult bestseller list. [6] Her following books in the Grisha Trilogy, Siege and Storm and Ruin and Rising also made the Times young-adult bestsellers.[6] David Heyman, the main producer of the Harry Potter film series, acquired the film adaptation rights with Dreamworks for the Grisha Trilogy.[6] Netflix made a show based on the Shadow and Bone series.[6]
