Levan Gachechiladze

Levan Gachechiladze (Georgian: ლევან გაჩეჩილაძე; 20 July 1964 – 20 August 2025) was a Georgian politician and wine businessman. He ran as the main opposition presidential candidate in the 2008 presidential election. Gachechiladze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia.[1] He also owned the Georgian television station Maestro alongside his brother.[2] Gachechiladze took part in the 2007 protests held in Tbilisi and took part in a hunger strike.[3] He was a member of the Parliament of Georgia from 1999 to 2002 and again from 2004 to 2008.

Gachechiladze died on 20 August 2025 in Tbilisi at the age of 61.[4]
