Members of the Committee on Financial Services sit in the tiers of raised chairs (R), while those testifying and audience members sit below (L).

There are two main types of congressional committees in the United States House of Representatives. One is standing committees. The other is select committees.

The current House committees were made by the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946. This bill lowered the number of House committees. It also changed what topics the committees discuss.[1]
