Lucille Whipper

Lucille Simmons Whipper (June 6, 1928[1] – August 27, 2021) was an American politician. He was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1985 to 1995. She was the first Black woman to represent a Charleston County seat.[2] Whipper was born in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a member of the Democratic Party.

Whipper died on August 27, 2021 at a hospital in Charleston at the age of 93.[3]
