Maghrebi Arabic (Western Arabic) is a vernacular Arabic variation spoken in the Maghreb region, in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Western Sahara, and Mauritania. They are clearly distinguished from the other dialects of the Mashreq and form the large western family of dialectal Arabic.

It can be genetically classified into two groups : the Bedouin dialects (Hilali, Maqilian and Sulaymite) and the pre-Hilali dialects (urban, village and Judeo-Arab).
