On May 19, 2022, a mass shooting happened in Chicago, Illinois, United States, in the city's Magnificent Mile shopping district.[2] Two people were killed, and eight others were injured.[3] One person has been arrested with the weapon used for the shooting being taken by Chicago police.

The shooting took place outside of a McDonald's restaurant. It was caused after two groups of young people got into a fight.[1][4]

After the shooting, the suspect ran from the scene and caused a chase between police officials to a nearby Red Line train subway station. During the chase, woman fell onto the tracks and was electrocuted.[5][4]
