Mandya
Mandya is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is also the headquarters of Mandya district. The city is located between Bengaluru (the capital city of Karnataka) and Mysuru. It is about 100 kilometers from Bengaluru and 45 kilometers from Mysuru.
Mandya is sometimes called the Sugar City because it has many sugar factories and sugarcane farms.[1] [2] [3] The area is known for growing sugarcane, rice and other crops. Farming is the main job for many people in the district.
The Cauvery River flows through Mandya, and it helps the farmers with water for irrigation. [4] The 'Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) Dam, near Mandya, is a famous water reservoir and a popular tourist place.
Mandya has a long history and is part of the rich culture of Karnataka. Many people in Mandya speak Kannada, the official language of the state.
Mandya also has many schools and colleges. It is connected by road and train to major cities like Bengaluru and Mysuru.
