Marcel Grün (born 20 November 1946 in Cheb) is a Czech astronomer, teacher, and writer. For over 15 years he worked as the director of the Prague Observatory and Planetarium.

Life[change | change source]

He worked at the Štefánik Observatory. He graduated from the Czech Technical University. In the 1960s, he was a member of the unofficial SPACE club.[1] At the Prague Planetarium, he was involved in astronautics. From 2002 to 2018, he was director of the Prague Observatory and Planetarium.[2]

The asteroid 10403 Marcelgrün is named for him.
