Maria Branyas Morera (born 4 March 1907[1]) is the current title holder of world's oldest living person since the death of Lucile Randon on 17 January 2023,[2] and the 18th oldest undisputed person in history.

She was born in San Francisco, California.

In March 2020, she became the oldest person to recover from COVID-19.[3] This record was later surpassed by Lucile Randon.

She currently lives in a nursing home located in Olot, Catalonia.[4]

  • 21 April 2023 - Maria Branyas Morera, aged 116 years, 48 days, finally surpassed Ana María Vela Rubio's final age and become the oldest person ever residing in Spain.
  • 14 May 2023 - Maria Branyas Morera, aged 116 years, 71 days, surpassed Tekla Juniewicz's final age and become the oldest emigrant ever.
