Mark Henry Gitenstein (born March 7, 1947) is an American lawyer and politician. He was the United States Ambassador to Romania from 2009 to 2012 during the Barack Obama presidency.[1] In July 2021, Gitenstein was nominated to be the United States Ambassador to the European Union by President Joe Biden.[2]
