Matthew Steven Rife[1] (born September 10, 1995)[2] is an American comedian and actor. He is best known for his self-produced comedy specials Only Fans (2021), Matthew Steven Rife (2023), and Walking Red Flag (2023). He is also known for his Netflix specials, TikTok videos and his sketch improv comedy and rap show Wild 'n Out.

Rife has said his biggest inspirations in comedy are Dave Chappelle, Ricky Gervais, and Dane Cook.[3][4] He has also said Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, Jim Varney, David Spade, Pauly Shore, and Robin Williams are other comedians that made an impact on him.[5]

The New York Times said that Rife was "just another struggling road comedian" in 2022 who then became more popular from TikTok over the following year.[6] In December 2022, Rife signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).[7]

In June 2025, Forbes said that Rife had a net worth of $50 million.[8]

In August 2025, Rife bought the Warren Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut that was owned by ghost investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.[9]

Personal life

Rife was born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in the village of North Lewisburg, Ohio.[10][1] He also lived in New Albany and Mount Vernon.[11]

Rife lives near Burrillville, Rhode Island.[12]
