Maximilian Reinelt

Maximilian Reinelt (24 August 1988 – 9 February 2019) was a German rower and physician. He won a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He also won two World Championships and four European Championships.

In 2016, he was awarded the Silbernes Lorbeerblatt, Germany's highest sports award.

He was born in Ulm, West Germany. Reinelt died on 9 February 2019 during a skiing accident in St. Moritz, Switzerland, aged 30..[1]
