Mehrabad International Airport

Mehrabad International Airport is an airport in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Before Imam Khomeini International Airport was built in 2007, Mehrabad was the main airport for both international and domestic flights. Now, it only handles domestic flights. In 2016, it was still the busiest airport in Iran, serving 16,678,351 passengers. The airport is also used by the Iranian government and is a base for the Iranian Air Force.[1][2]

Mehrabad Airport only manages domestic flights. From March 2022 to March 2023, it served 12.3 million passengers.[3]
