Mesquite, Texas

Mesquite is a large city in north-central Texas. It is a part of a much larger group of cities called the Metroplex. It's population in 2013 was 143,484. The city manager of the city is Stan Pickett.

The city was founded on March 14, 1878. It was named after the Mesquite Creek. The city was officially created on December 3, 1887.
