Michael James (born 29 October 1935), known professionally as Michael Jayston, is an English actor. He played The Valeyard in the 1986 Doctor Who serial The Trial of a Time Lord. He also played in a radio version of the novel You Only Live Twice in 1990, performing James Bond. He also appeared in the BBC comedy series Only Fools and Horses in 1996, playing Raquel's father.
