Mr. Osomatsu

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mr. Osomatsu (おそ松さん, Osomatsu-san) is a slice-of-life comedy anime series created by Studio Pierrot in 2015, it was made to celebrate Fujio Akatsuka's 80th birthday and it is more adult-oriented than the original Osomatsu-Kun series.

It's manga adaptation is in the Josei category, and it currently has 3 seasons (with a season 4 coming on the way in Summer 2025.)

The first episode of this series, "Osomatsu-Kun returns!" (復活!おそ松くん) caused controversy because it featured too many parodies to different anime, in Japan; fair use laws do not exist,[1] this episode in specific has been replaced in official releases of the series, the first episode in most official releases is "Let's Get a Job/The Melancholy of Osomatsu-kun", which is in the original broadcast, it was the second episode of the series, and another episode caused controversy because it featured a "risque" parody of Anpanman.

The anime was licensed by Viz Media in 2017.[2]
