Illustration of Gerasim with his dog: Mumu

Mumu (Russian: Муму) is a Russian tale. It was published in 1852 by Ivan Turgenev in the political magazine: Sovremennik.[1]

The story is about the relationship between Gerasim - a deaf mute servant - and his dog. The story changes to an elderly widow-woman who is Gerasim's boss. The woman shows her cruel side when she tells him to get rid of his pet.
