Navy Goal 2030

Forces Goal 2030 is an ongoing modernization program for the Bangladesh Navy. The goal includes increasing personnel, warships, and aircraft to transform the Navy into a three-dimensional force. The requirement for the program was first identified in 2009.

The main objective of the Navy Goal 2030 is to develop a self-reliable naval force. Since the implementation of the modernization program, Bangladesh navy has increased its naval fleet. There is also a naval air force. During the first phase of the program, Bangladesh Navy added over twenty-five ships to its fleet, including submarines, frigates, and corvettes.

In 2017, The Navy officially announced the establishment of indigenous frigate and corvette programs. To implement the programs, the navy expanded Khulna Shipyard and Dockyard and Engineering Works Limited.
