Ned Ray McWherter (October 15, 1930 – April 4, 2011) was an American politician. He served as the 46th Governor of Tennessee from 1987 to 1995. He served as Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1973 to 1987.[2]

McWherter died of cancer in Nashville, Tennessee, aged 80.
