The word ciculation is used to measure how many people read a certain newspaper per day, on a typical day. Usually, there are two numbers, the number of copies sold, and the number of readers. Very often, a newspaper sold gets read by more than one person. In many countries, there are only a few (usually two or three) large newspapers that dominate public opinion.
