Nihon Hidankyo (Japanese:日本被団協, formally:日本原水爆被害者団体協議会nihon-gensuibaku-higaisya-dantai-kyougikai) is a Japanese non-governmental organization established by victims of nuclear weapons in Tokyo 1956 to abolish nuclear weapons. In 2024, Nihon Hibankyo was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize "for its efforts to achive a world free of nuclear weapons and for demonstrating through witness testimony that nuclear weapons must never be used again".[1]
