Nina Garsoïan

Nina G. Garsoïan FBA (April 11, 1923 – August 14, 2022) was a French-born American historian. Her works focused on Armenian and Byzantine history.[1][2][3] In 1969 she became the first female historian to get tenure at Columbia University. From 1977 to 1979, she was dean of the Graduate School of Princeton University.[4] She was born in Paris, France.

Garsoïan died on August 14, 2022 in New York City at the age of 99.[5]
