The North Yemen Civil War was a civil war in North Yemen from 1962 to 1970 between the royalists (Kingdom of Yemen) and the republicans of the Yemen Arab Republic.
Finally, the agreement was reached and the republicans gained control of the government, ruling the country.
The war
[change | change source]During the civil war, the royalists had the Saudi Arabians supported while the republicans were aided/sided by the Soviet Union and Egypt.
However, due to the aftermath of the Six-Day War of 1967, Egypt no longer had the resources to intervene in the North Yemen civil war, leading to a ceasefire.
