Otto Schenk

Otto Schenk (born June 12, 1930) is an Austrian actor, and theater and opera director. He was born in Vienna, Austria. His career began in 1953. Schenk has appeared in over 30 movies (mostly in German). He is known for his lavish, realist, traditionalist stagings at the Metropolitan Opera, most notably his production of Richard Wagner's four-opera epic Der Ring des Nibelungen.

Schenk is currently starring in the stage adaptation of Lily Brett's Chuzpe at the Kammerspiele Theatre in Vienna.[1]

Schenk is known for his movie roles in Always Trouble with the Reverend (1972) and in Reigen (1973). His best known stage role was in Arabella (1977).
