Oura Health Oy is a company from Finland that makes health technology. They are famous for the Oura Ring, a smart ring that people use to track their sleep and exercise. The company started in 2013 and was created by Petteri Lahtela, Kari Kivelä, and Markku Koskela. Harpreet Singh Rai was the CEO from 2018 to 2021, and then Michael Chapp was the temporary CEO.[1] In 2022, Tom Hale became the new CEO. The company's main office is in Oulu, Finland, but they also have offices in Helsinki, Finland, and San Francisco, United States.[2]

In 2015, the company got $2.3 million in seed funding, which helped them start their business. They first showed their ring on Kickstarter in 2016 and officially launched it at a technology event in 2017. In 2020, the company won two awards: 'Best Consumer Wellness Company' and one of Time magazine's "100 Best Inventions of 2020."[3] They got these awards because of their work with the NBA during the COVID-19 pandemic.[4]

In 2021, Oura Health got $100 million in Series C funding from different companies and investors. They had also received funding from other companies and people in earlier rounds.[5]
