Panipuri (also called golgappa) is a popular street food and snack from the Indian subcontinent. It consists of a deep-fried, hollow, spherical shell, approximately 1 inch (25 mm) in diameter, filled with a mixture of potatoes, raw onions, chickpeas, and spices. Panipuri is often flavored with chili powder, chaat masala, herbs, and various other spices.
