Paruyr Hayrikyan
Paruyr Hayrikyan (Armenian: Պարույր Հայրիկյան, born July 5, 1949, Yerevan) is an Armenian political activist and a former dissident. Hayrikyan was a internationally-known political prisoner in USSR. In 1987 he founded "National Self-Identification" Union. He is known for his struggle for the independence of Armenia.
In 2013 he was shot and wounded during his bid for the presidency.
