The Pasyón (Spanish: Pasión) is a Philippine epic narrative. It is about the life of Jesus Christ. It is mostly about his Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Its stanzas all have 5 lines. Each line has 8 syllables. The poetry has a very dramatic theme.
This epic is sometimes chanted at a pabasa (“reading”). This is popular in Filipino Catholic devotion during the Lenten season. This is usually during Holy Week.[1]
