Pecan pies are sweet pies. They are made mostly with corn syrup and pecans. Some are made with brown sugar, molasses or honey. It also may be topped with ice cream, whipped cream, and similar items.

Pecan pie is often served in the Southern United States with Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. Since there are over 1,000 varieties of pecans, the famous pie has a wide variety of taste.
