Peter Beard

Peter Hill Beard (January 22, 1938 – April 19 2020) was an American artist, photographer, diarist and writer. He lived and worked in New York and Kenya. His photographs of Africa and African animals were widely shown and published since the 1960s.

Beard was born in New York. He was married three times. His second wife was supermodel Cheryl Tiegs. He had a child with his third wife.

On March 31, 2020, Beard wandered away from his home in Montauk, New York. At the time of his disappearance, he was suffering from dementia and ill health after a stroke. On April 19, 2020, he was found dead in a wooded area by a hunter. He was 82.[1]
