Pope Tawadros II (born as Wagih Subhi Baqj Sulayman on (1952-11-04)4 November 1952 Coptic calendar: [25 Paopi 1668]) is the current and 118th pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria succeeding the late Pope Shenouda III as the pope of the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria. He took office and his papacy began on 18 November 2012 [9 Hathor 1729], two weeks after he was elected to the papacy of the patriarchate.
