Popeye is a 1980 musical movie based on the characters and concepts created in E. C. Segar's Thimble Theatre comic strip. The movie starred Robin Williams (his movie debut) as Popeye, Paul Dooley as Wimpy, Paul L. Smith as Bluto, Ray Walston as Poopdeck Pappy, and Shelley Duvall as Olive Oyl. It received mixed reviews.
