Qadar Yar

Qadar Yar (1802–1892), was a Muslim Jatt of the Sandhu caste. He was born in the village Machhike, in Gujranwala District in Punjab (in modern-day Pakistan) during the rule of the Sikh Empire. He was the court poet of the Lahore Sikh Darbar, during the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He is considered an important poet of Punjabi language and his famous epic Puran Bhagat is ranked amongst the great Punjabi classics.[1]
